Welcome to my website! This was originally written as an extension so the book The Breast Cancer Journey: Stories of Hope with Action Items for Survival,  a site designed to help those affected by breast cancer through your journey. Whether you have been recently diagnosed, have been a survivor for many years, or have been a caretaker for someone with breast cancer, we all have something in common. The stories on this site provide hope and encouragement.  We want you to know you are not alone in this fight.

All royalties from this book are donated to further cancer research, as we all hope to play a part in finding a cure. The authors do not make any money on the sale of these books. I have only a few author copies left (I thought I was sold out, then I found some in my closet when we moved!) When they are gone, they are gone. I’m not sure if this is positive or not, as that means many people have cancer or are touched by breast cancer. I will sell a few more individual copies until they are gone. However, if you want to order a bulk supply at a discounted rate, please reach out to me privately and I will order a box for you. Otherwise, please make your purchase through Amazon.

Book_CoverThe Breast Cancer Journey is a compilation of stories of hope and encouragement from survivors and patients of all ages and stages. Daily action items infused with Scriptures and yearbook pages persuade readers to join with the writers and document their journey, reminding them they are not alone. This is a must-have book for anyone who has been touched by breast cancer.

When my radiation oncologist and I started the project of collecting stories to put in a book, we had no idea how many stories we would receive.  In the end, we had to reduce the number of pages to make the book more affordable (and to save a few trees.)  This site contains the stories that were not able to be included in the published version.  It also includes stories we have received since the book was published.  There is a section for caregivers, who also need some action items for survival.

Also, I am writing a blog of my own personal journey. You will read about me in the book, and at the time of publication I was deemed cancer free. However, since then my cancer returned. In December 2016 I was diagnosed with Stage IV Metastatic Breast Cancer. They have found mets to the bones, with tumors on my ribcage, skull and spine. They found mets in the liver, lungs, and also found brain lesions. I started treatment in 2017 and since then all of those mets have stabilized, all tumors and lesions are no longer present in my body!  I am a walking miracle, as they originally gave me a year or two to live.  We are now many more years into this new journey and my body is stable. God is good!

My goal in writing this book and starting this website was to prompt our readers to start writing about their own journey.  Write in the book, write comments on my blog, or write your own story.  I have found that as survivors wrote their stories, they found healing of emotions and relationships. By writing, we hope you will work through your journey and find healing for your soul.  May God richly bless those who read our book or visit my website.

Medical treatment is expensive, even with great insurance. If you would like to help support me on this journey, all donations are greatly appreciated!
