Perspective

My Story
After two chemotherapy sessions, I had a repeat breast ultrasound. My tumor was a triple positive breast cancer, and it was not getting bigger with the chemotherapy regime my oncologist had ordered for me. I was very happy with the positive news.
After four chemotherapy treatments, I had another breast ultrasound. The doctor came in and said the lump is shrinking. I started crying! The breakdown was filled with relief and delight all at once. Unfortunately my crying scared my husband. Now, I had to calm him down.
Our perspective can change our outlook on any situation at hand. I knew I could choose to look at my situation from either a positive or negative outlook. I chose a positive outlook with the news that was given. My husband saw my tears as a negative until I could explain myself, and I let him know that the news was good. Perspective!
How I Got Through It
At this writing I still have more chemotherapy, an operation, and radiation treatment to look forward to. Still, I choose to remain full of hope for a great outcome. I know my doctors know what they are doing. I am seeing the results already as I discipline my mind to stay positive.
